About Volteta

With the goal of improving efficiency, Volteta provides design and manufacturing services for the automotive OEM and Tier Suppliers. Our highly experienced team provides help in the design, prototype, validation, manufacturing, continuous improvement and warranty issue resolution of internal combustion engines (using gasoline, diesel and a number of other fuels), of hybrid & plug-in hybrids (where an electric propulsion motor is added), transmissions, driveline and pure electric vehicles from passenger cars to Class 8 trucks and buses. We can provide in-plant launch support.

Volteta also provides manufacturing consulting services in many industries, as well as supplying and refurbishing Material Handling, racking and Conveying systems. Our goal is to increase your efficiencies and provide cost savings to stay competitive in today’s market.

Our name

Our name comes from the unit of electrical potential difference - the Volt, and the greek letter symbolizing efficiency, η (pronounced eta).

Our combined experience and expertise covers every area of the process map. From designing for manufacture and assembly, through manufacturing (i.e. casting / forging / forming / stamping / blanking etc) the individual components through machining, impregnation, painting and on to sub-assembly, assembly and test they have dealt with every productivity / throughput issue imaginable.

We have access to a broad spectrum of expert consultants. Each of our team leaders can bring in the appropriate experts to address the issues, whether Manufacturing Engineers, Controls Engineers, Industrial Engineers or Maintenance / Production Supervision. They also have access to Product Development Engineers, Quality Engineers and Supplier Technical Assistance Engineers. Because we understand how all of these processes interact we can resolve issues efficiently and importantly, prevent recurrence of the issue.

Examples

A metal processing company had issues with unaccounted scrap and problems meeting their delivery schedules. Our team re-wrote the company’s ISO 9001 procedure for Production Scheduling & Inventory Control, Receiving, Scheduling, Planning, and implemented a barcoding inventory system. Once implemented, the company was in a much better position to understand the reasons behind their scrap and production problems, and was able to use the data to eliminate the issues on an ongoing basis.

An electric traction motor manufacturer needed to expand their capacity. Areas addressed were Material Supply / Timing issues, Production Scheduling, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality and Staffing issues. Key members of our team assisted the manufacturer to achieve their production volume target in around 4 months.

A vehicle assembly plant may have issues with supply of a transmission due to a casting issue. The casting supplier may be experiencing issues with porosity. Our team can work with both the casting and transmission suppliers to understand the issues, contain the issues to improve throughput, improve the casting at a design level and validate it, then update all of the foundry molds, validating those as they are updated. We have the capability to look after multiple projects simultaneously.
